Reserve Your Windows 10 Upgrade for Free

As of today Microsoft enables its Windows 7 and Windows 8.x users to reserve a free upgrade to the new Windows 10 operating system. If you have already purchased Windows 7 or Windows 8.x for your device — be it a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or anything else — you can now reserve a Windows 10 for that device. For no cost at all!

Once Windows 10 is finalized and pushed out by Microsoft, you will receive notification regarding the download and installation procedure. This is expected to happen after July 29, 2015.

The Reservation Process

In the bottom right notification area of your Taskbar a new Get Windows 10 icon will show up.

And that’s it. In less than two months, you will be notified by Microsoft that you can download and install your copy of Windows 10.

Remember that you need to reserve a copy of Windows 10 for each of your devices. And that even though you don’t make a reservation now, you will still be able to obtain a copy of Windows 10 for free later during the summer.
